How
to find us
We meet at Eccleshill
Public Library which is easy enough to find and is approx 2 miles from Bradford
centre. From Bradford you can either take Canal Rd (A6037) and then turn onto
Kings Rd, and then trurn right onto Queens Rd (A6177) then bear left onto
Bolton Rd (A6176) then go straight ahead at the traffic lights and take the
first right and then first left - you will the see the Library car park on
your left.
Or you could go
on the A658 (Otley Rd - HarrogateRd) and then turn left onto Pullan Avenue
(A6176) you will pass the Library on your left and you should turn left onto
Leeds Rd (1st left after the library) then turn left again onto Undercliffe
Rd where you will see the car park. Click the images above for a larger map
showing the location of Eccleshill Library.
Our regular observing
site is at the Leeds and Bradford Model Boat club in the club's car park.
The easiest way to get there is to head for the Leeds and Bradford Airport
on the A658 through Apperley Bridge. When you reach the traffic lights at
the top of the hill bear right and go on Micklefield lane and through the
next set of traffic lights. You should now be on Harrogate Rd (B6152) and
then turn right up Canada Rd (Immediately before the Stone Trough Pub) the
L&BMBC is at the top of the hill and is signposted.
Please be aware
there is a lake at the side of the car park and you should take care - especially
if you bring any children to the site as there are no fences around the lake
- any guests are the responsibility of their hosts and the L&BMBC will
not be liable in the event of any accidents
or damage to property whilst you are engaged in any observing activity.
To reach Thackley
Football Club Travel along Leeds Road (A657) to Thackley corner and then turn
down Thackley Road - Ainsbury Avenue branches off to the right and you will
see a sign for TFC just a short distance along the avenue. Ainsbury Avenue
is not very well lit, so keep a look out for the turning into TFC on your
right, which is signposted. We will either be in the clubhouse or at the far
end of the car park.
